Statement
A printmaker and mixed-media artist, my current work is driven by materiality, sustainability and an interest in the unexpected. By using overlooked materials, including waste cardboard packaging, as printmaking plates, I allow their textures and structural histories to emerge through the press. Corrugation, tape and labels - with the addition of carborundum - become rich and unpredictable marks, making the substrate an active participant in the work.
I am interested in how humble materials can be transformed, challenging ideas of value and celebrating the enduring power of the handmade.
